Reids of Caithness of Thurso makes the shortlist of the World Championship Scotch Pie Awards 2017
After a busy judging day in Dunfermline where a panel of 50 professional judges, and some well-known faces, assessed each and every product on its appearance, quality, consistency and taste, Reids of Caithness of Thurso has secured a slot on the shortlist of the 18 World Championship Scotch Pie Awards.
"100 butchers and bakers entered 500 of their best products into 11 categories this year and the competition has been fierce so Reids of Caithness can be proud to have come this far" said Alan Clarke, Chief Executive of Scottish Bakers which manages the competition.
"The World Championship Scotch Pie Awards is the only competition of its kind recognising excellence in the preparation of a perfect pie" continued Alan. "The competition is now a regular fixture on the calendar as butchers and bakers throughout the land vie for pie supremacy and the boost to their business that always comes with such a sought after title."
Thanks to the launch of a new website, www.worldchampionshipscotchpieawards.org, this years’ bumper crop of entries included a wide range of ‘products at their peak’ with accolades on offer for the best:

The winner will be announced at a prestigious luncheon hosted by Carol Smillie on 11th January 2017 at the Westerwood Hotel, Cumbernauld.
